Register Now Engineering Complete Streets: Moving from Policy to Implementation Featuring John LaPlante, PE, PTOE Tuesday, June 11 1-3 PM Conference Center Auditorium, Indiana Government Center South There will also be a special breakout session designed for engineers and others interested in discussing specific technical questions and engineering challenges related to multi-modal transportation design from 3 - 4:30 PM. We expect to provide continuing education credits for professional engineers and certified planners.

As more Hoosier communities commit to making streets safe and accessible for all
users, we must also address the engineering and systems changes that accompany
successful implementation.

John LaPlante, PE, PTOE and Director of Traffic Engineering
for T.Y Lin International, will share lessons learned from decades of work
accommodating pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders and people of all ages and abilities
in Chicago and around the country. Mr. LaPlante balances the practical and technical
aspects of implementing Complete Streets policies while addressing issues such as
level of service, right-of-way, traffic speeds and volume, signalization and more.
